I rent  a room underneath a hairdressers.  Its a lovely room I have decorated in Cream and purples.  Very relaxing.  Clients always comment on how relaxed and cheilled they feel as they walk into the room.
This week I have enjoyed my separation even more than normal.
  We have alot of new people in the salon at the moment.  Trainees ~ a different one everyday for the week on placement work, a trainee that comes in every day, voluntary, to grow her skills.  A new Hairdresser who is on a trial for a time.  Oh my god! The noise levels have gone up so much!! They are all talking and 'twittering' to each other.  Talking over each other and just generally being louder.  I think its the excitement of new people that seems to have got the ones, who have been there awhile, all of a dither!!
   Even the owner of the salon said today,,,'You struggle with it don't you?'    and I had to say yes,, I do.  It's just too much for me. 

   Don't get me wrong.  I love a laugh and a giggle and am very good with people. But it's all gone up to the maximum level and it's hard to deal with it all.  I sound a right miserable cow.  I don't mean to come across as grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  It will be nice when everyone has gotten used to everyone and they all calm down.
It gets pretty full on with new people in the salon.   I am different from them as I like to let people settle and then I will get to know them.  I'm not the type of person who makes friends quickly,, but when I do make a friend, you're a friend for life.  I think thats why I take awhile to get to know people and, I suppose, let them get to know me.

  So, I am looking forwards to it all settling, in the meantime................................

So,,I've been thinking of something I can do other than work.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job.  I just never switch off from it.  I am always researching the latest look for the nail.  What colours are in and out.  For waxing I am alway looking out for the latest brow shape...Yes,, even these can be in fashion!

  So,,, I have been looking for other things to do,,,things just for me.  Not for my clients....
I have been looking at jewellry making,,,very expensive! But still an option,,,,, But the one thats come out tonight has been Candle Making!

I love candles and alway have them burning.  I find they can change your mood, the room, the atmosphere.
So I have found a company that sells a beginners kit for less than £12.  I am going to order it tonight and have a go........will let you know how 'Kirsty's Kandles' develop.
                                         

  I've just returned from an amazing weekend with my daughter! 
It was her birthday on Monday...21!!  How did that happen?
I travelled up on the Friday and arrived to a wonderful batch of her homemade cup cakes.  With real Strawberries inside!!

We just chilled for the rest of the Friday,,,enjoying being together again.

We are lucky to have the relationship that we do.  I am very much her Mum first followed closely by being good friends.  I have never developed this kind of relationship with my own Mum.. I think this is why I enjoy my daughter so much! We laugh alot together!!

On the Saturday we wandered around Kingston and treated ourselves to a lovely lunch with a nice bottle of wine.  Her boyfriend went and did his own thing and left us to it.  It was just so nice to sit there and catch up with each other.  My daughter has grown into a fantastic adult. 

On the Sunday we headed into central London.  We ended up there a little later than planned thanks to the trains......

We had a light lunch with a glass of vino and then plodded about. At 4pm I had a table booked for afternoon tea.  I will never forget how her face lit up when I don't her thats what we were going to do......priceless!

We had a lovely lot of goodies to work through,,,,Sandwiches,, pastries,, scones,, cakes,,,shortbreads,,brownies and pavlova!!  We could't do it all justice.  She did giggle as I popped the bits we couldn't manage into a napkin, wrapped it up and shoved it into my bag!

Just as I asked for the bill,,,,there was eye contact between the waitress and manager......we both got nervous.  My daughter, like myself, is not good at being the centre of attention.  We both hate it and want the floor to eat us up in one mouthful!  However,, the manager came of with a plate of handmade truffles with the lovely message piped in the side of the plate.

A beautful way to spoil my gorgeous girl..................perfect and locked away in the memory box forever!

I have had a busy day.  I did manage to lie in and finish my book this morning, which was my escape from life!
Then it was washing, ironing, hoovering, dusting, into town shopping, wash car, cook a roast, clean bathroom, change the bedding..........that was my 'day off'.

Isn't it funny how you can start a day feeling on top of the world,,,,and finish it feeling crabby & ready to kick something.....or someone!!!

Getting to know me!

Well,,,Hello....This is my first ever blog!  It's a bit weird to sit here and type whatever I feel like typing & to think some might even read it!
I decided that I would try a blog as I wanted to write again.  Something that can be missing in this world of text, twitter & facebooking.  We all send short & snappy messages to family, friends & in my case, clients.
  I miss writing and could probably do with some practise at it!  So here it is,,,a blog.  Whether I stick at it is another matter..................let's see how it pans out........
